What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 94/100
The BR08 is consistently described as an energetic, engaging and surprisingly refined tower speaker with a warm-leaning but well-judged tonal balance. It combines substantial, controlled bass with an open midrange, lively treble and an unusually expansive presentation for the money, though it performs best with sympathetic electronics, careful positioning and room to breathe.
Bass
95/100
Reviewers repeatedly praise bass that is taut, agile and articulate while carrying convincing weight, punch and room-filling authority. SoundStage Solo heard extended, low-overhang bass and measured a 29Hz in-room -3dB point, while Hi-Fi Choice found the port remained inaudible even when pushed hard. Wall of Sound notes that truly subterranean output is beyond its compact dual-6.5-inch format, but still calls the low end fast, controlled and detailed.
Mid
94/100
The midrange earns particularly enthusiastic comments for its openness, clarity and natural vocal presence. SoundStage Solo describes voices as rich, palpable and convincingly detached from the cabinets, while StereoNET found singers tactile, articulate and vividly projected. Hi-Fi Choice also hears a warmer, fuller balance that makes acoustic material sound rich and compelling.
Treble
91/100
The top end is generally regarded as detailed, airy and well balanced rather than sharp. SoundStage Solo praised its shimmer, long decay and ability to combine extension with restraint, while Wall of Sound found the tonal balance well judged. What Hi-Fi? and StereoNET both advise careful system matching, as bright or hard-sounding electronics can make the treble more assertive.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
The BR08 produces a large, coherent and convincingly three-dimensional presentation when positioned well. Hi-Fi Choice heard an effortless sense of the whole performance rather than individual drivers, and SoundStage Solo praised laser-like image placement with strong width, height and depth. What Hi-Fi? found imaging precise and expansive, although not quite as spacious or layered as the strongest alternatives.
Dynamics
95/100
Dynamics and rhythmic drive are among the BR08's most celebrated qualities. What Hi-Fi? calls its punch, agility and ability to communicate musical momentum exceptional, adding that the speaker comes especially alive at higher volume. SoundStage Solo found it stayed clean and composed at loud levels with strong slam, while StereoNET praised its explosive shifts and ability to track every escalation.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
The cabinet is widely considered solid, stable and neatly finished, with Hi-Fi Choice specifically praising the magnetic grilles and semi-isolated plinth as well executed. Internal bracing and vibration-control measures also suggest thoughtful engineering. The exterior is nevertheless described by What Hi-Fi? as fairly basic, and Wall of Sound notes the vinyl-wrapped finish reflects the speaker's entry-level positioning.
Value for Money
96/100
At roughly $1,399 per pair in the reviewed US market, the BR08 receives unusually emphatic value praise. SoundStage Solo calls it a "screaming bargain" and recommends it at the top of a $1,000-$2,000/pair shortlist, while StereoNET says it punches far above expectations for its price. What Hi-Fi? considers it capable of challenging the best options in its class, and Wall of Sound was bowled over by the performance available at the asking price.

Manufacturer's Description — Triangle
Hi-Fi Floorstanding Speaker – Borea BR08
The floor standing BR08, inspired by the iconic Antal speaker, was the reference model throughout the design of the Borea range. Elegant three-way floor standing with 4 transducers, it is one of the most appreciated high-fidelity models.
It incorporates a new 25mm EFS silk dome tweeter; a new 16cm midrange with a brand-new profile, based on the research on the natural cellulose paper used before in the Esprit Ez; and two new 16cm bass drivers in fiberglass.
Its three-way configuration diffuses all frequencies with no interference between the transducers, producing precise voices and instruments.
This floorstanding speaker will fit perfectly in rooms ranging from 20 to 40m2.
