Mounted with the poise of a high-end bookshelf, the Sonetto Wall delivers deep bass that belies its slim profile, paired with smooth highs and refined dynamics for long, unfatigued listening. Sonus Faber’s on-wall design also shows exquisite Italian craftsmanship, making these speakers both sonically convincing and visually luxurious, says Vince Hanada.

Pros

Bass surprisingly deep and bookshelf-like for an on-wall design, retaining punch and body.

High frequencies are smooth and detailed without listener fatigue, thanks to the DAD silk-dome tweeter.

Exceptional build and finish — hand-rubbed lacquer, seamless joins and elegant curved baffle elevate its aesthetics.

Surprisingly wide dynamics and controlled cabinet behavior for high SPLs, preserving transient detail.

Cons

Soundstage depth is understandably shallower than freestanding speakers; toe-in helps but depth remains limited.

High-frequency immediacy can be reduced depending on tweeter height and listener position, affecting perceived air.

Nominal 4-ohm impedance and Sonus Faber’s 30–150W recommendation mean these benefit from a robust amp to reach full potential.

Included mounting brackets angle the speakers but cause them to protrude a few inches from the wall rather than sit flush.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"This was evident in the bass response: The Wall provided bass that was deep for its size, reminiscent of that of a good bookshelf speaker."

— SoundStage Solo

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 89/100

Bass

90/100

Two 6" woofers in a thin on-wall cabinet deliver bass that reviewers called "deep for its size" and "reminiscent of a good bookshelf." The reviewer also noted it can approach full-range with a sub for the lowest octave; overall bass is controlled and punchy for a 6" on-wall speaker.

Mid

90/100

Mids are warm and well-bodied, with vocals and guitars rendered with natural presence; reviewer cited Isaac Freeman's deep voice and guitar warmth on test tracks. Timbre is refined and not clinical, lending musicality appropriate to the Sonus Faber voicing.

Treble

89/100

The 1.25" silk-dome (DAD) tweeter provided smooth, detailed highs without fatigue; reviewer highlighted smooth trumpet reproduction and plenty of detail that remains easy on the ears. Treble extension and refinement are strengths for long listening sessions.

Soundstage Imaging

88/100

On-wall placement yields a understandably shallower stage versus freestanding speakers, but adjustable brackets/toe-in produced "rock-solid lateral imaging" and a stable center image. Width and placement accuracy were praised even if depth is limited by the form factor.

Dynamics

89/100

Reviewer called dynamic range "surprisingly wide for an on-wall speaker," noting retained composure at higher volumes and convincing drum dynamics. Cabinet showed minimal vibration, supporting strong transient control for the format.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

94/100

Finish and fit are exceptional: hand-rubbed lacquer, invisible wood joins, curved baffle and refined grille give a high-end, carved-from-solid look. Craftsmanship and materials are clearly premium for the price tier.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive two-way speaker; single set of posts implied. Passive baseline applied. Spec'd 4 ohm nominal, 89dB sensitivity and recommended 30W–150W; no DSP/streaming expected or penalized.

Value for Money

84/100

At the review price of $1,199 each, the Sonetto Wall sits between Sonus Faber's Venere and Olympica lines and offers a high level of finish and sonic refinement for the money. Reviewers positioned it as an attractive option for audiophiles short on space, though a sub may be desirable for full-range bass.
