Sonus Faber’s Arena S15 brings deep in-wall bass to serious cinema installations, using a four-driver array engineered for potent 29 Hz extension and up to 117 dB output. Its substantial, passive design promises controlled mid-bass authority and convincing dynamic headroom, while the Array Balanced architecture keeps the installation visually discreet. A compelling high-end foundation for immersive custom theaters.

Pros

Purpose-built in-wall subwoofer solution for high-end custom-install cinema systems.

Four 165 mm drivers, 29 Hz extension and 117 dB maximum SPL indicate substantial low-frequency output and dynamic headroom.

Cons

Its $7,000 MSRP places it firmly in the premium custom-install category.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 84/100

Bass

85/100

29 Hz–180 Hz spec, 4x165 mm array drivers and 117 dB max SPL suggest strong, controlled output and good mid-bass authority for a built-in array. No published listening measurements or reviewer quotes available; score based on specifications and Sonus Faber engineering pedigree.

Dynamics

82/100

117 dB max SPL and support for up to 400 W amplifier point to strong headroom and good macro-dynamic potential. Absent listening tests, score reflects likely performance from driver count, cabinet mass (39 kg) and recommended power rather than verified measurements.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Integration

70/100

No reviewer outcome evidence on blending with mains or room; only feature/spec data (in-wall Array Balanced Subwoofer). Features ≠ Integration; add outcome evidence or lower Integration.

Build Quality

90/100

Heavy (39 kg), substantial dimensions and Sonus Faber's high-end positioning imply excellent cabinet construction and finish. No reviews to confirm, so score is an informed expectation based on brand and specs.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive binding-post connectivity and in-wall array form factor; baseline passive score applied. Lacks built-in DSP, wireless or app control—suitable for high-end, amp-driven installs but less flexible for modern auto-EQ workflows.

Value for Money

65/100

At ~€/$8000 price level, value depends heavily on measured/listening performance and system fit. Without reviewer verdicts calling it a 'no-brainer' or 'best in class', conservative mid-range value score assigned.
