What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 95/100
Reviews describe an unusually complete, high-output presentation: powerful deep bass, clean and transparent midrange, detailed AMT treble, and a very large soundstage. It is presented as a neutral, highly resolving full-range speaker that remains composed with complex music and at very high listening levels.
Bass
97/100
HomeTheaterHifi recorded exceptionally deep, powerful bass, with output remaining solid to 10Hz, and called it the deepest bass it had measured at the time. In listening, the dual active 12-inch drivers were described as tight, visceral, natural and unrelenting; The Absolute Sound similarly praised the speaker's deep-bass power and accuracy when properly set up.
Mid
95/100
HomeTheaterHifi found vocals and instruments remarkably immediate and transparent despite the speaker's large scale. The Absolute Sound repeatedly praised the clean, detailed midrange and singled out the smooth handoff between the AMT unit and the 7-inch mid/woofers during complex music.
Treble
93/100
Reviewers describe the AMT array as detailed, clean and capable of playing loudly without upsetting overall coherence. The Absolute Sound found the upper range notably free of audible coloration, while HomeTheaterHifi heard a cohesive treble system with unusual lower-treble authority.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
HomeTheaterHifi heard a massive, intricately detailed stage that gave the impression of removing the listening-room walls. The Absolute Sound also praised the soundstage, while noting that its ultimate scale depends on room, listener position and setup effort.
Dynamics
96/100
The Focus XD was reported to reach 110dB peaks at the listening position without audible distortion, and to handle demanding bass-and-drum material with ease. The Absolute Sound likewise praised its performance from low to high levels, describing excellent dynamics, detail and musical life from the active system.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
93/100
The cabinet uses substantial 1.25-inch MDF construction, reinforced and shaped to reduce internal standing waves. HomeTheaterHifi considered the satin rosewood veneer among the finest loudspeaker finishes it had seen, while The Absolute Sound also praised the enclosure styling, curvature and veneer quality.
Value for Money
95/100
At roughly $15,200 per pair in standard finish, reviewers regarded the Focus XD as unusually competitive for its performance and powered full-range capability. HomeTheaterHifi called it a screaming value and suggested its performance would normally be expected from speakers above $50,000 per pair; The Absolute Sound called it very good for the dollars.

Each tower features 700 watts of super low-distortion amplification, providing significant bi-amplification benefits. The Legacy Focus XD is a truly versatile system, offering multiple configuration options including fully active operation or active bi-amplification with an external amp.
The Focus XD floor standing speakers boast the renowned Legacy Dual AMT system for pristine highs and dual 7″ graphene filled carbon fiber mid-ranges. The dual 12″ ultra-linear woofers deliver unprecedented bass output.
