ifi Audio iDSD Phantom

Vanish into the Music.

Uniting a reference-class DAC, ultra-resolution streamer and powerful headphone amp into one, the PHANTOM is a trinity of iFi innovation, engineered for complete musical immersion.

The World Premiere of DSD2048.

For the first time, our Crysopeia FPGA engine brings DSD2048 Remastering to the comfort of your home, drawing on technology used in Japan’s mastering studios. Four Burr-Brown DSD1793s operate in a custom interleaved configuration for native decoding of signals up to DSD2048, unlocking exceptional low-level detail for playback that rivals a professionally remastered recording.

Three Voices. One PHANTOM.

The PHANTOM delivers the experience of three devices in one. Move between Solid-State mode, where discrete J-FETs deliver lightning-fast precision; Tube mode, where hand-matched NOS GE5670s provide liquid smoothness; and Tube+, which pushes the tube character for golden-era warmth. Pair with the PHANTOM’s prodigious 7,747mW¹ peak output to craft the ideal synergy with your favourite cans.

Queue up Qobuz.

Introducing our latest ultra-resolution streaming engine. The iDSD PHANTOM opens the door to Qobuz Connect, alongside Tidal Connect, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, and more. This evolution also brings enhanced stability, smoother radio performance, and a more intuitive UI with deeper customisation. With the new and updated Nexis app, it’s now easier than ever to connect and queue music from anywhere in your home.

Studio-Inspired Restoration.

In collaboration with JVCKENWOOD, the PHANTOM incorporates K2 and K2HD Technology². By restoring harmonic content lost during production or digital encoding, it revives the musicality of the original performance.

The Final Brushstrokes.

XBass Pro is our analogue shelving EQ, available in 10, 20, and 40Hz options. It lifts low frequencies without clouding the midrange. XSpace Pro goes far beyond crossfeed, pushing the music outside your head without sacrificing soundstage – just like speaker playback. Use the 30-, 60-, and 90-degree settings to find the most natural presentation for your setup.

Then use the array of digital filters to perfect the time-domain response.

Mastered from the Ground Up.

A re-designed, constant impedance negative feedback system ensures XBass Pro, XSpace Pro, and DSD Remastering operate in perfect harmony. A dedicated common-mode servo smooths XBass’ on/off transitions and maintains LF consistency at high levels. We also fine-tuned the tubes’ supply voltage to enhance overall linearity in the audio output.

Wi-Fi Setup, Made Simple.

Ethernet delivers the most stable streaming experience and the fastest initial setup, but for those who want wireless, our Nexis app provides a new way of pairing to your router over Bluetooth.

Nexis also gives you direct access to advanced streamer settings, connected storage devices, and seamless over-the-air updates, all from one place.
