The Focal Theva N°2 brings holographic imaging and a vividly stage-forward presentation to a compact three-way floorstander. SoundStage Solo found its placement-adjustable voicing capable of projecting instruments and voices palpably beyond the cabinets, while its Slatefiber array supplies warm, punchy midbass and clean mids. Time-aligned stands and home-theater matching make this an expressive, versatile tower for smaller rooms.

Pros

Exceptionally vivid, stable imaging projects instruments and voices convincingly into the room.

Warm, punchy and textured midbass gives music satisfying drive in small to midsize rooms.

Placement and toe-in offer unusually useful control over brightness, fluidity and imaging.

Cons

Treble can sound forward, with extra energy around sibilants and cymbals if positioning is not optimized.

Ultimate deep-bass extension is limited versus larger or deeper-reaching floorstanders.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"This combination of design and technology embodies the perfect balance between finesse and performance."

— Best of High End

"The N°2s performed the stereo-imaging party trick to stunning effect."

— SoundStage Solo

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 88/100

Theva N°2 is described as an engaging, forward-sounding three-way with especially vivid imaging, clean midrange reproduction and punchy midbass. Careful placement and toe-in are important: they can tame a notably treble-forward balance, while the compact cabinet limits ultimate low-bass reach.

Bass

88/100

The bass is reported to be warm, punchy and texturally satisfying, with the twin woofers giving the speaker useful low-frequency efficiency. SoundStage Solo found extension more limited than deeper-reaching rivals, but considered it solid for small to midsize rooms and felt the pleasant midbass made up for much of that limitation.

Mid

87/100

The Slatefiber drivers are praised for a clean, clear presentation from the midbass into the upper midrange. One listener found this region slightly cool rather than rich, while another describes the overall presentation as balanced and immersive.

Treble

82/100

There is clear detail and clarity from the TNF tweeter, with one review calling treble mild and crystal clear. However, SoundStage Solo repeatedly heard a treble-biased balance, including extra energy around 5-7kHz that could make sibilants, cymbals and hi-hats sound harsh or brittle before placement was optimized.

Soundstage Imaging

94/100

Imaging is the standout strength. SoundStage Solo found instruments and voices projecting solidly into the room ahead of the cabinets, and describes the effect as stunning; the tilted stand and controlled off-axis behavior are also said to support a stable stereo image.

Dynamics

88/100

Reviewers describe an energetic and immersive delivery, with drums taking a forceful forward position and kick drum punching through clearly. The twin-woofer arrangement brings useful drive, though the available comments do not suggest the larger-scale low-end authority of bigger towers.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

86/100

The 16mm MDF cabinet feels solid, and a knuckle-rap test found no ringing or obvious cabinet problems. Its walls are thinner than those of some similarly priced speakers, but the angled, time-aligning stand, magnetic grille, tidy finish options and practical terminals make it a thoughtfully executed design.

Value for Money

85/100

SoundStage Solo lists the price at $899 each, placing the Theva N°2 among competitively positioned mid-priced floorstanders. The reviews do not directly compare its value against peers or make a strong claim for or against the asking price.
