ELAC’s UF52 delivers rich, warm tonality with the convincing scale and bass authority a proper three-way tower should bring. Its concentric driver helps create holographic imaging, while the composed, non-fatiguing treble keeps long sessions inviting. newrecordday praised its remarkably balanced presentation; Tharbamar found it deeply musical and engaging across genres.
Pros
Exceptionally balanced, rich and warm sound that remains engaging for long listening sessions.
Holographic, three-dimensional vocal imaging and a speaker-disappearing soundstage when positioned carefully.
Textured, authoritative bass and strong dynamics for bass-heavy music and higher playback levels.
Cons
Deep sub-bass is limited; a subwoofer is recommended for genuinely full-range output.
Upper-midrange separation and definition are less analytical than rivals, and the sound may initially seem congested before break-in.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100
Reviewers describe a rich, warm and notably well-balanced presentation that remains engaging over long listening sessions. Its strengths are scale, bass confidence, holographic imaging and the ability to play loudly, though listeners seeking an especially airy, ultra-separated sound may find the presentation somewhat forgiving.
Bass
94/100
The UF52 earns strong praise for textured, tonally satisfying bass and mid-bass, with its three woofers giving it substantially more confidence and authority than the matching bookshelf model. One reviewer found it capable of keeping up with bass-heavy music at very high levels, although another noted that the deepest sub-bass is limited and recommended a subwoofer crossed around 60Hz for fully full-range reproduction.
Mid
90/100
Vocals and instruments are described as musical, rich and enjoyable, with a warm character that makes the speaker easy to listen to for extended periods. There is a caveat that the upper midrange can initially sound congested and could offer more separation, definition and space between notes; the reviewer found it opened up substantially with use.
Treble
89/100
The treble is reported to be properly extended yet free of harshness, supporting the UF52's smooth and forgiving overall balance. Review commentary suggests a gently refined rather than aggressively analytical top end, making it a sensible fit for listeners sensitive to brightness.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Imaging is a standout: reviewers say the UF52 can disappear in the room and place holographic, three-dimensional vocal images convincingly in space. One review found the stage wide and deep rather than unusually large, while another praised the clear sense of distance among performers when the speakers are carefully set up.
Dynamics
93/100
The UF52 is praised for maintaining authority on bass-heavy material and for delivering convincing dynamic swings and bass slam with suitable amplification. It also remains engaging at low volume, though one reviewer noted that an underpowered amplifier could begin to struggle only at extreme listening levels.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
86/100
The cabinet uses a black-ash vinyl wrap rather than a luxury finish, but the reviewed example was considered solidly built and appropriately finished for the price. Internal bracing, separate driver chambers and the substantial crossover layout were specifically praised, while the rear five-way binding posts accommodate banana plugs, spades and bare wire.
Value for Money
95/100
At $799, the UF52 drew unusually enthusiastic value comments. New Record Day called the Uni-Fi 2.0 range its favorite production speaker up to $1,500 and said buyers may feel they received more speaker than expected, citing reference-like balance and performance without an extravagant outlay.

True 3-Way Speaker
A 3-way speaker system offers numerous benefits due to its precise allocation of frequencies to three distinct drivers, each tailored for bass, midrange, and treble. This meticulous distribution guarantees a precise and detailed rendering of sound throughout the entire spectrum. This design minimizes frequency interference, reduces distortion, and ultimately results in a clearer, more refined audio quality.
Brand New Custom-Designed Concentric Driver
The updated wide-surround tweeter enriches both low and high-frequency extension, facilitating better integration with the midrange driver. A completely revamped mid-range configuration incorporates a larger diameter voice coil, an updated aluminum cone profile, a redesigned low-profile surround, and a brand-new neodymium magnet assembly. These enhancements contribute to enhanced imaging, broader sound dispersion, and minimized crossover distortion.
Dedicated 5-1/4” Aluminum Bass Woofer
A newly developed single piece aluminum cone results improved stiffness. Combined with an oversized magnet, larger diameter voice coil, and an extended pole piece these new Uni-Fi 2.0 speakers have significant improvements in accuracy and bass dynamics.
Acoustically Optimized Cabinets
Each Uni-Fi 2.0 enclosure undergoes meticulous engineering, featuring sturdy MDF outer walls and an elegant black ash vinyl finish. Strategically positioned internal bracing enhances the cabinet's structural integrity, minimizing vibrations that could otherwise distort the sound and introduce unwanted coloration.
