Dali EPICON 8

With a driver complement including two 8" woofers plus an additional 6.5" low-mid and a specified ±3 dB low-frequency limit of 35 Hz, the EPICON 8 maps to the reference-class bass band. Expect authoritative extension, weight and control appropriate for a high-end flagship tower; the crossover and large cabinet geometry imply strong low-end slam and low-frequency authority. No reviewer quotes were supplied, so score relies on specification and Dali's flagship engineering pedigree.

The dedicated 6½" mid driver and a 3.5-way crossover topology indicate a focused, coherent midrange with accurate timbre and strong vocal presence. Dali's reputation for natural mids and the separation implied by driver allocation support a very high midscore, with smooth handoff to the tweeter and planar unit assumed from the design.

A 29 mm soft dome combined with a 10 x 55 mm planar transducer and a specified 30 kHz upper limit suggest extended, refined high frequencies with good air and detail without undue brightness. The dual high-frequency approach typically yields exceptional resolution and low harshness in this class.

Large drivers, careful crossover design and the inclusion of a planar element point to excellent width, depth and image focus. The EPICON 8 is likely to deliver layered staging and precise imaging stability when placed and powered properly, consistent with flagship-floorstanding expectations.

High recommended amplifier power (50–500 W) and substantial low-end driver complement indicate strong macro- and micro-dynamic capability with generous headroom. The design should handle transient slam and large-scale dynamics without running out of steam in most domestic rooms when partnered with capable amplification.

As Dali's flagship model, the EPICON 8 features premium drivers (planar + soft dome + large woofers), substantial cabinetry and a complex crossover; these elements support high marks for engineering and finish. The spec sheet implies careful resonance control and quality components typical of this price tier.

Passive tower baseline applied (fixed passive baseline score). No additional connectivity or DSP features were listed, and no penalties are applied for being a passive design.

At a stated price of 25,000 (currency unspecified), the EPICON 8 sits in a very high luxury price bracket. While spec and presumed performance are flagship-level, the score is tempered by the steep price; without reviewer commentary on competitive value or comparisons to peers, a conservative value rating is applied.
