Value for Money

88/100

The E-3000 pairs neutral warmth with textured bass control and remarkably precise imaging, making demanding loudspeakers feel effortless rather than hard work. Jay's Iyagi found its refined, non-fatiguing treble, realistic stage depth and organic resolution especially compelling, while its tank-like construction and flexible tone controls underline its enduring high-end appeal.

Pros

Smooth, subtly warm neutrality combines fine detail with long-session, non-fatiguing treble.

Grippy, textured bass and effortless power delivery maintain control with demanding speakers.

Open, realistically proportioned soundstage with exceptionally precise instrument and vocal placement.

Exceptionally substantial build, plus useful tone controls and expansion slots for future system tailoring.

Cons

Premium pricing remains a significant commitment, even if the reviewer considered the build and performance justified.

Listeners seeking a naturally brighter, airier treble balance may find the top end somewhat subdued without tone-control adjustment.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"it almost feels like a tube amplifier with that delicate, beautiful, pretty mid-range and high frequency when the track demands it."

— Jay's Iyagi

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 93/100

Listening impressions describe a neutral presentation with a slight, welcome warmth, combining fine detail and refined treble with substantial bass grip. The E-3000 is also praised for an open, realistically proportioned stage, exceptionally clear image placement, and effortless control when music becomes demanding.

Transparency Resolution

93/100

The listening review calls the E-3000 transparent, refined and resolving without becoming clinical. Treble is said to retain small nuances and sparkle while remaining smooth, never drawing attention through brightness or harshness.

Tonal Balance Musicality

92/100

Its overall balance is described as neutral with a slight warmth, giving music a smooth and effortless character. Vocals, jazz and strings are singled out as beautiful, delicate and involving, while the high frequencies remain comfortable over long sessions.

Dynamics

93/100

The reviewer found the amplifier seamless and effortless with difficult speaker loads, never suggesting it was running short of control or power. Bass is described as grippy, textured and satisfying, with convincing dynamic swing when recordings demand it.

Soundstage Imaging

94/100

One listening review reports an open soundstage with convincing width and depth. Imaging is especially highly praised: instrument and vocal locations are said to be exceptionally easy to identify, with clearly defined stage boundaries.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

91/100

The E-3000 is described as built like an “absolute tank,” inspiring confidence inside and out. The available material also notes high-carbon cast-iron insulators intended to reduce vibration, although the reviews provide little long-term ownership evidence.

Features Connectivity

85/100

Connections include five RCA inputs, one balanced XLR input, and facilities to use the unit as a preamplifier. Tone controls offer useful system and room tailoring, while two option-board slots provide scope for a more customized setup.

Value for Money

88/100

At an asking price around $8,900, this is clearly a premium integrated amplifier, but the available review explicitly frames it as worth that outlay. Its combination of confident speaker control, refined sound and substantial construction makes the price appear well supported for buyers shopping in this class.

Manufacturer's Description — Accuphase

The E-3000 integrated amplifier emerged from the path forged by the technologies used in high-end equipment.
Among this amplifier’s constituent elements, the vitally important volume control circuits incorporate AAVA that
employs the ANCC principle. The power amplifier section produces balanced signals relying on the instrumentation amplifier principle while simultaneously creating a robust output stage through three-fold parallel push-pull power transistors driven in class AB. Every moment spent immersed in the vibrant playback of the E-3000 is one to relish.

  • AAVA volume control circuit
  • Powerful 100 watts into 8 ohms, 150 watts into 4 ohms
  • Three-fold parallel push-pull configuration using power transistors driven in Class AB
  • Power amplification stage configured as an instrumentation amplifier
  • High damping factor of 600
  • Balanced remote sensing to improve the damping factor
  • Current feedback amplification circuit topology assures excellent phase characteristics in the high range
  • Strong power supply with massive transformer and high-voltage, large filtering capacitors
  • Protection circuitry using MOS-FET switches
  • Tone controls using summing active filters
  • High-carbon cast iron insulators for superior vibration damping
  • Two expansion slots for option boards
